| The Butterfly is our popular timber frame flat cabin
which sits at the top level of SME’s “salt
box” barn structure. Like all of our cabins,
the entire structure is an authentic timber frame
with exposed white and red oak timbers and artistically
cut joinery. The Butterfly features a queen size Italian
designed iron canopy bed, dining table, full bath,
small walk-in kitchen, tile floors, leather couch,
and a small private deck overlooking SME’s beautiful
natural landscape. With its tasteful antiques, seclusion,
and “old world” charm, the Butterfly is
a favorite of our many returning couples. |

| As with
all Shadow Mountain Escape structures, Butterfly has
a modern heat/air system and offers all the comforts
of home. Guests in the Butterfly also have access
to Shadow Mountain Escape's timber frame observation
tower with sitting room to take advantage of ridgeline
views and the visual highlights that come with the
changing of seasons in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The
Butterfly is well suited as a romantic get-away for
couples or for adventurous small family groups.
